On Sunday, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) placed Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, along with Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha under arrest in connection with the seizure of banned drugs from an Empress cruise ship off the Mumbai coast.
Officials stated that Aryan Khan was arrested based on the evidence that was collected against him during the investigation. Aryan, along with Arbaaz and Munmun have been booked under sections 8 (c), 20 (b), 27, and 35 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and they will be produced in Mumbai’s Magistrate’s court around 7 pm today. Satish Maneshinde is likely to represent Aryan, and he was earlier seen arriving at the court with his team.
Aryan, along with the two others, were taken for medical examination and were brought back to the NCB office on Sunday. The NCB recorded the statement of Ayan Khan earlier during the day, and Aryan denied the purchase of drugs in his statement. Statements of five other suspects are along being recorded, and they are likely to be placed under arrest after their statement.
Sources from the NCB stated that all electronic gadgets were seized and scanned by the authorities to check their involvement in the possession or consumption of drugs.
The name of the drug peddler was revealed during the interrogation, and a team of the NCB has been sent to capture the drug peddler who supplied drugs to the ship. The NCB is also looking for Gopal Anand, who played a major role in hosting the party. A statement issued by NCB stated that drugs such as ecstasy, cocaine, mephedrone, and charas were recovered from the ship.
