On Sunday, November 8, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) took the wife of Bollywood film producer Firoz Nadiadwala, Shabana Saeed into custody, in a case pertaining to the consumption of drugs and illegal substances. Notably, Shabana was arrested from her house in Mumbai.
The arrest comes following the NCB’s raids, that after being tipped-off by a source carried out search activities at five different locations in Mumbai as well as Navi Mumbai. Earlier on Saturday, the NCB officials arrested four drug peddlers who are allegedly linked to delivering a high amount of drugs.
Post the arrest, while addressing a media house, Zonal Director of NCB, Sameer Wankhede confirmed, “Film producer Firoz Nadiadwala’s wife has been arrested today in a drug-related case.”
The interrogation with the arrested peddlers produced another shocking development in which the name of Shabana Saeed came up. A total of 727.1 gm of Ganja, 74.1 gm charas, and 95.1 gm MD, and Rs 3.5 lakh has been recovered by the NCB in the case.
Apparently, Shabana has been charged under Section 8C of NDPS Act (produce, manufacture, possess, sell, purchase, transport, warehouse, use, consume, import, export any kind of psychotropic substances), Section 20B of NDPS Act (produces, manufactures, possesses, sells, purchases, transports, imports inter-state, exports inter-state or uses cannabis) and Section 27 of NDPS Act (Punishment for the consumption of any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance).
