NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted raids in several locations in Srinagar on Wednesday morning. Raids were done in the residence of Khurram Parvaiz, the human rights activist in Sonwar and the office of Greater Kashmir newspaper. They have been raided in link with ‘illegal funding’.
A new case has also been registered by the NIA to investigate the truth behind the activities that raise funds for the NGOs and the details of the donors. The agency has also raided the offices of the NGO Athrout. Every minute details will be probed that involves who is funding the NGO and from where the funds are being allocated.
According to the NIA officials, the NGOs are being alleged and suspected to have connections with Hawala racket, terror funding and misallocation of funds.
