Kochi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) are investing the matter together in Kerala Gold Smuggling Racket. The latest facts that investigators think there may be a link between PFI (Popular Front of India) and gold smuggling racket busted. So far, the internal sources clued-up that the smuggled gold may have been used by the PFI to fund anti-national terror activities. It has not been revealed that which terror organization was funded through this smuggled gold. However, there is official confirmation. So far, NIA and ED are questioning every suspect related to the case.
The team interrogates Kerala State Senior IAS officer, M. Sivasankar for almost 10 hours. Sources revealed that the IAS officer was detained and questioned over the link of PFI and phone calls with an accused. M. Sivasankar was also a former Principal Secretary of Chief Minister, Pinaraayi Vijayan, and Information Technology Secretary. Earlier, the team of NIA had questioned Sivasankar in Thiruvananthapuram over five hours last week and put him on notice to appear at its Kochi office for further questioning. Reportedly, Sivasankar did not give clear answers to questions on Monday. NIA and ED have compared the statements of Sivasankar to the statements given by Swapna Suresh and the other accused, after which he has been called for the second time for questioning.
