According to the sources, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology has summoned representatives of Twitter to appear before it on Friday, June 18.
The panel has also invited the officials from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to present their version on the ongoing dispute between Twitter and the Ministry.
The discussion will continue among the social groups. The panel will talk about the IT regulation rules and some of its recent developments, including the manipulated media controversy. Twitter India’s officials are still under scrutiny and questioned by Delhi Police and the intermediary guidelines and their compliance.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor will be heading the panel that called Twitter officials to explain their views on a range of recent issues.
