On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his greetings to the people on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi. The occasion marks the birthday of Prophet Muhammad. He further wished that the virtues of kindness and brotherhood may always prevail.

Taking to Twitter, the Prime Minister penned, “Milad-un-Nabi greetings. Let there be peace and prosperity all around. May the virtues of Kindness and brotherhood always prevail. Eid Mubarak!”

Eid Milad-un- Nabi is celebrated every year to honor the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad. The occasion is observed in the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, which is the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar, that commences with the sighting of the moon.

The occasion celebrates the life of the Prophet, his teachings, sufferings, and his character, as he even forgave his enemies. The Muslims celebrate this day by wearing new clothes, offering prayers, and exchanging gifts.
