PM Modi Greets President Suk Yeol, Expresses Wish To Strengthen India-South Korean Ties

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to Yoon Suk Yeol on assuming the charge as South Korean president. The Prime Minister added that he looked forward to meeting him soon and working together to enhance and enrich the ties between the two countries.

Narendra Modi tweeted, “I extend my heartfelt greetings and good wishes to ROK President @sukyeol_yoon as he commences his term in office today. I look forward to meeting him soon and working together to further strengthen and enrich the India-ROK ties.”

On Tuesday, Conservative Yoon took office, at a time when the country is witnessing a tougher mix of foreign policy and domestic challenges. Notably, the other recent South Korean leaders did not encounter such challenges at the commencement of their presidencies.

India and Republic of Korea (RoK) relations have made a great stride in the recent years and have established multidimensional, stirred by a significant convergence of interest, mutual goodwill and high-level exchanges.
