Today, on the occasion of completing one year of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched multiple educational initiatives. The initiatives launched by PM Modi include Academic Bank of Credit, National Digital Education Architecture, and other initiatives.
Addressing the nation, teachers, and students, PM Modi made the announcement. Commenting on the Academic Bank of Credit he highlighted that it will provide flexible multiple entries and exit for students in Higher Education. He hoped that this step will help the students to break away from the shackles of sticking to one stream. “One can select their course and exit if they are not interested. This is a revolutionary change,” he added.
Talking about the change in the education scenario due to the global pandemic, he praised the students for adapting to online education so quickly. “The National Education Policy assures the youth that the country is complete with them and with their spirit,” he added.
Next, he spoke about the launch of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) program. The program aims to make the youngsters of the nation future-oriented and will also create a way for an AI-driven economy.
Reportedly, 14 engineering colleges in 8 states offer education in 5 different languages. These languages include Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, and Bengali. The event also witnessed the presence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
