Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Lucknow and has laid the foundation stones of 75 Urban Development Projects of Uttar Pradesh under Smart Cities Mission and AMRUT. He has also inaugurated the ‘Azadi@75 – New Urban India: Transforming Urban Landscape’ Conference-cum-Expo.

Keeping in mind the street vendors, he pointed out that the PM Svanidhi Yojana has enabled the vendors to be linked with the banks. The scheme, he added, has benefitted more than 25 lakh beneficiaries with over Rs. 2500 crore. The beneficiaries living in Lucknow and Kanpur have benefitted the most through this scheme.

Under FAME-II, PM Modi flagged off 75 buses for seven cities including Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, and Ghaziabad. He mentioned the goal of operating electric buses in more than 100 cities.

Furthermore, he mentioned the metro network that is expanding in six cities of UP. PM Modi also lauded the new records made in digital payments. Reportedly, in July, August, and September, India will manage to make transactions worth Rs. 6 lakh crore every month.
