Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced his US engagement by meeting five leading American CEOs from five key sectors. He highlighted the economic opportunities in India.
Out of the five CEOs, PM Modi met, two of them are Indian-Americans namely, Shantanu Narayen from Adobe and Vivek Lall from General Atomics. The remaining three are Cristiano E Amon from Qualcomm, Mark Widmar from First Solar, and Stephen A Schwarzman from Blackstone.
PM Modi held one-on-one meetings with the president and CEO of Qualcomm, Cristiano R Amon, who expressed his desire to work with India in areas such as 5G and other Digital India efforts. The meeting and Qualcomm’s assurance assume significance as India is pushing for 5G technology.
Meanwhile, PM’s meeting with Lall occupies a significant position as General Atomics is not only the pioneer in military drone technologies but also the world’s top manufacturer of state-of-the-art military drones. For the three branches of armed forces, India aims to procure a large number of drones.
