Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a discussion with Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the Foreign Affairs Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and reviewed the bilateral initiatives between India and Saudi Arabia, along with initiatives taken under the Strategic Partnership Council that was established between both countries in October 2019.
During the meeting, PM Narendra Modi conveyed India’s willingness for seeing greater investments from Saudi Arabia in various sectors such as energy, IT, and defense manufacturing. An exchange of views also took place between both the leaders on regional developments and the situations in Afghanistan.
PM Narendra Modi posted a tweet and said that he was pleased to receive His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the foreign affairs minister of Saudi Arabia. The prime minister added that they exchanged their perspective on the ongoing bilateral cooperation initiatives between both the countries along with the regional situation. PM Modi expressed his regards to His Majesty the King and His Highness the Crown Prince.
Furthermore, PM Modi thanked Saudi Arabia for looking after the well-being of the Indian diaspora during the coronavirus pandemic.
Al Saud met with S Jaishankar, the external affairs minister, yesterday, and they had discussions on developments in Afghanistan, along with ways to expand the bilateral trade of both countries in several sectors such as defense, trade, investment, and energy.
