Chennai: A sudden police raid on Tamil Actor Shaam’s residence obtains with game boards, tokens, and cash worth lakhs of money. The Chennai Police arrested the actor along with 11 other companions on Monday night from Shaam’s residence in Nungambakkam, Chennai. They were arrested and charged under the Gambling Act.

The police informed that many popular Kollywood stars often visit Shaam but during that moment no Tamil star was found along with him. According to the sources, the police are probing the modus operandi regarding the use of tokens and some other complex to gambling. Tokens for gambling were recovered from his residence. It is yet not clear whether any other famous actors were arrested from the spot.

The move was taken by the police after reporting the suicide of a final-year student after losing money in some online games. In another case, a young man killed himself after losing 20,000 that he took from his office and got depressed. After these cases, police have started a thorough search to find the racket and places to stop illegal gambling, hopping for search operations in various hotels and centres.
