Investigating Raj Kundra’s alleged porn racket operating in Mumbai, the police have seized 70 videos that were shot by Kundra’s former personal assistant Umesh Kamat with the help of different production houses. It has also recovered 90 videos that were exclusively meant for the Hotshots app.

In the investigation, the team has found a wider network, involving many small production houses of the city. All these houses were associated with the operation of hotshots, the now-deleted streaming application.

The police had conducted a raid at Kundra’s house and office, where they found the server. The server will be sent for forensic analysis to confirm whether the content for the app was uploaded using the server. Similarly, multiple bank accounts of Kundra with deposits of around Rs.7.5 crore have been frozen by the police in connection with the Raj Kundra porn app case.

The complaint against Raj Kundra is not only of making pornographic films in India, which is illegal under several provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the IT rules but also to lure people to feature in porn movies promising them roles in web series. However, Kundra’s lawyer Abad Ponda stated that the content of the app was vulgar, but not pornographic. To support him, several Bollywood personalities have also claimed the same.

The cops claimed that Kundra has been running the porn business for the last two years. Talking to the media, the probing team claimed that Kundra avoided arrest since February by bribing the Crime Branch officers.

Furthermore, the Whatsapp chats of Raj Kundra have revealed that the businessman had hatched a plan B for broadcasting pornographic films as his Hotshots app was taken down by both Google and Apple stores. Presently, Raj Kundra is in police custody till July 23.

Kundra had sold his Hotshots app to a UK firm apparently to escape investigation in India. Reportedly, the UK firm is owned by Kundra’s brother-in-law, though the official ownership was transferred, Kundra used to manage the operations.
