Today, the veteran Punjabi singer Sardool Sikander passed away at the age of 60 years. He was being treated in Mohali, Punjab.
Immediately after the news of his sudden demise, his fans and other singers have been pouring their Twitter handle with tributes to the late singer. Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had informed that Sikander had tested positive for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) and was being treated for it.
Taking to his Twitter account, the Minister paid his tribute to the singer. He said he was extremely shocked by the demise of the legendary Punjabi singer Sardool Sikander. “The world of Punjabi music is poorer today. My heartfelt condolences to his family and fans,” he tweeted.
On the other hand, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Chief, Sukhbir Singh Badal also expressed his grief over the sudden demise of the singer. “Saddened to learn about the demise of legendary Punjabi playback singer Sardool Sikander. A huge loss to the Punjabi movie and music Industry. Prayers for his family, friends, and fans. May his soul rest in peace!” he wrote. A few years ago, the singer had undergone a kidney transplant.
The former Minister of state for external affairs, Preneet Kaur also paid tribute to the late singer. She expressed her sadness over the sudden demise of the singer. “His sudden death has left a big vacuum in the Punjabi music industry and also in the hearts of millions of fans worldwide. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. RIP,” she said.
