On Thursday, former Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi said that against the Covid-19 pandemic, India is fighting its worst battle and noted that it requires strong solutions and not “hollow speeches” or “false celebrations” while the country is reporting the highest number of daily cases recorded ever.
Gandhi also stated that apart from corona, the Centre’s anti-people policies are another big crisis of the nation. Being quarantined at home after testing positive for Covid-19, the Congress leader doesn’t spare the central govt from criticizing and tweeted in Hindi that the flow of sad news is continuous. Taking a jibe at ‘Tika Utsav’ of PM Modi, he said that the current situation of the country does not need these ‘false celebrations’.
The daily Covid-19 cases of India have been rising terrifically. On Thursday, India hit a record spike with more than 3.16 lakh fresh cases, which not only India’s highest recorded but is the highest-ever recorded in any country.
Although the Centre is expanding the vaccination drive for all the adults, the vaccine policy of the Centre has been compared with demonetization by Gandhi as per him, it will subject common people to a lot of health and monetary stress while a few industrialists will get the benefit.
Several states are reporting an acute shortage of oxygen amid the increasing number of patients, who need serious medical attention. For this, blaming the flawed policy of the Centre, Gandhi said that the country lacks a strong Covid strategy and added, “Exporting oxygen and vaccines when our own people are dying is nothing short of a crime.”
