Today, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi lashed out at the Modi Government over the rising fuel prices and inflation. Taking to his Twitter handle, he tweeted, “Destruction for all, Development of inflation”.
Along with his tweet, Rahul also shared a news article which mentioned that if the government had not increased the tax, then today the price of petrol would have been Rs. 66 and that of diesel would have been Rs. 55. The price of fuel has surpassed Rs. 100 in several states of India. Previously, Rahul had slammed the Central government regarding the inflation in the country.
Earlier, Rahul had claimed that the increase in GDP for the Modi government means an increase in the prices of gas, diesel, and petrol. “Modi Ji keeps saying GDP is increasing, but now I understood GDP means Gas-Diesel-Petrol. They have this illusion,” he added. He had also raised his voice for the rising price of LPG.
Last week, oil companies started increasing auto fuel prices. Meanwhile, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri on Saturday said that the consumption of petrol and diesel has increased as compared to the pre-COVID times, and the government is working towards price stability.
