On Tuesday, the leader of the Indian National Congress (INC) and MP from Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi before Kerala by-polls targeted the Government led by P. Vijayan. The Minister criticized the stand of the Government of Kerala on the draft notification of the Center on Eco-sensitive Zone or Ecologically Sensitive Zone (ESZ). 

The Congress MP stated that this attitude of the State Government on the buffer zone, Wayanad is a causing threat to the livelihood of the people living around the Wildlife Century. There is a buffer zone around protected areas such as ESZ, Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary. 

Taking to social media, Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “The livelihood of the people around Wayanad Wildlife Century is jeopardized by the Kerala government’s stand on the buffer zone. This step of the government has left these toiling people in a cloud of uncertainty and suffering is pushed towards the future. There is an urgent need to take protective measures. ” 

Rahul Gandhi who is on a tour in the poll-bound state, on Monday took part in a tractor rally in Wayanad and targeted the Union Government on the Farm laws, mentioning that Agriculture is the only business that belongs to ‘Bharat Mata’. He appealed to people to force the Government to withdraw the three black farm laws which the BJP led Government at the Centre implemented in the monsoon session of the Parliament.
