On Saturday, Union Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Giriraj Singh mocked and termed Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Lakhimpur Kheri as a ‘political tourism’. Rahul was in Lakhimpur Kheri to visit the kin of the victims who were killed in the violence on October 3.
Singh stated that there was ‘no genuine sympathy and compassion involved’ in Rahul’s visit. Singh questioned why Rahul did not visit Kashmir to meet the families of people who are being killed. He said, “Wherever Congress and the other opposition parties get a chance, they go ahead with their political tourism. I would like to ask why did Rahul Gandhi not visit the family of the journalist killed in that incident?”
Furthermore, Singh congratulated the Bihar government for administering 6 crore vaccine doses before December. When questioned on the issue of RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav campaigning for an independent leader, he refused to comment, and said it is the family matter of Lalu Prasad Yadav.
