• The farmers have been planning to hold agitation at Jantar Mantar till the end of the monsoon session on August 13.
Tikait, the spokesperson of Bharatiya Kisan Union posted a tweet and said that the Kisan Sansad has awakened the deaf and dumb government and added that the farmer also knows how to run Parliament and teach a lesson to those who neglect him in the village, further mentioning that nobody should forget that. Tikait also asked the farmers to be united so that they can save the soul and freedom of India.
Tikait’s comment was made on the third day of the farmer’s protest that is held near the Parliament. The sit-in is termed as ‘Kisan Sansad’ by the farmers and it began on Thursday. ‘Kisan Sansad’ was organized to show the agitation of farmers. To scrap the three new farm laws passed by the farmers last year, the farmers have been holding protests at different Delhi borders for nearly eight months.
The farmers have been planning to hold agitation at Jantar Mantar till the end of the monsoon session on August 13. However, Anil Baijal, Delhi Lieutenant Governor, has permitted farmers to hold protests at the site till August 9.
Tikait had earlier said that the farmers will pass a motion at the ‘Kisan Sansad’ on the cancellation of the three contentious farm laws.
The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), a body of farmers’ unions, has been spreading the protest against the three laws. The three farm laws include the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; the Farmers Empowerment and Protection Agreement on Price Assurance and farm Services Act 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
