- Earlier in a video, Ramdev raised questions about the efficacy of vaccines against Covid-19 infections.
- He has been at odds with the doctors’ body.
- The Indian Medical Association termed Ramdev as a quack in its complaint.
Yoga Guru Ramdev has said that soon he will take the vaccine against Covid-19 amid his attempt to bury the hatchet with the Indian Medical Association. The yoga guru also advocated for vaccines and said apart from practicing yoga and Ayurveda, everyone should take vaccines.
Praising the announcement of PM Modi for free vaccination for all, Ramdev, who has been at odds with the doctors’ body, completely shifted from his earlier statement on vaccines where he raised questions about the efficacy of vaccines against Covid-19 infections.
On the contrary, earlier Ramdev had said that he has the dual cover of Ayurveda and yoga and has not yet taken the vaccine. Recently, completely changing his earlier statement, Ramdev termed doctors as a “gift to the planet” and said that his fight is not against any doctor but against the drug mafia.
The yoga guru said, “We cannot be at enmity with any organization. And all the good doctors are all messengers sent by God on this earth. They are a gift to this planet. But if a person is a doctor does anything wrong then that is the fault of that individual.”
On Wednesday, the Indian Medical Association approached the Indian Council of Medical Research against Ramdev’s “unprovoked, demeaning and prejudicing utterances against modern medicine”. The association termed Ramdev as a quack in its complaint.
Already, the association wrote to the union health minister, Harsh Vardhan, Prime Minister Modi against his statements. The Delhi Medical Association also filed against Ramdev and the Delhi high court has heard the case and observed that he is entitled to his opinion.
