Filmmaker Rohit Shetty recently opened up on all the criticism over the Sooryavanshi song, ‘Tip Tip’, which is the remixed version of the same song from Mohra (1994). Many fans were not delighted with the recreated version of the song.

The original song was picturized on Raveena Tandon and Akshay Kumar in 1994. Speaking to an interviewer, Rohit said that he understands the sentiment behind not liking the remix and that the audience is right on their part. “Dekhiye main maanta hoon ki, kuch log jo diehard fan hai, jinko lagta hai ki remake nahi karna chahiye tha, woh apni jagah sahi hai,” he said.

Rohit said that with ‘Aankh Marey’ and ‘Tip Tip’, they tried to retain the original essence of the song, with the singers and the instruments. The director said that sometimes it backfires.

He mentioned that ‘Tip Tip’ was a cult song and that it was revived through the remix for the younger generations. Shetty said that people of the older generation are not wrong being unhappy with the song, and neither the modern generation is wrong who liked the remix version. Both stand corrected on their grounds.

The new ‘Tip Tip’ got a lot of adulation from celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Taapsee Pannu, and Manish Malhotra. The song is shot in the background of a deserted amusement park in a flashback sequence.

The film revolves around a police officer who must prohibit a plausible terror attack on Mumbai. The film starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif has cameos by Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh, who returns as their cop characters from Singham and Simmba respectively.
