Today, the Indian Embassy in Russia has expressed shock over the shooting incident, which took place at the university in the Russian city of Perm. It mentioned that all the Indian students at the medical university are safe and unhurt.
Talking about the horrifying incident, the embassy has expressed deep condolences over the loss of lives in the shooting. “Our condolences for the loss of life and best wishes for early recovery of those injured,” the Indian Embassy said. It informed that it is in contact with local authorities and representatives of Indian students.
Elaborating the incident, a spokesperson mentioned that the gunman has been identified as an 18-year-old-student of the university. His actions clearly indicated that it had nothing to do with politics or religion, but was motivated by hatred.
Earlier, he had posted a photo with the rifle in his hand. Below the image, he wrote, “I have thought about this for a long time, it’s been years and I realized the time had come to do what I dreamt of.”
