Actor Sameera Reddy celebrated her brown natural skin while sharing a picture of her recent Goa family beach trip on her Instagram page. Reddy looked radiant and wholesome in the picture with the beach behind her.
Sharing the picture, Sameera wrote: “In a world promoting fair skin, I’m most happy to bask in the golden sun to enhance my yummy Indian complexion. #sunnydays #weekendvibes #family #getaway Goa.” The picture showed Sameera in a coffee and white-colored one-piece swimsuit, with a hazy image of a man in red shorts with a child in his arms at the far end.
A comment read on the picture, “You are really very pretty… Indeed our skin color does not define us,” another user wrote, “Absolutely… Love dusky skin… I wish I was also dusky.”
Sameera had been an advocate of body positivity for a long time. She had been raising her voice on the issue for quite some time now. The actor had struggled a lot in the past with bodyweight issues after the birth of her two children. In the process, she became a representative of the resistance against the craze of losing the pot-Partum fat in unhealthy ways.
A few days ago she shared a then-and-now picture of herself and spoke about how it is not right to keep comparing with one’s previous self. She wrote: “Do you keep comparing yourself to what you were before? The healthiest thing you can do for your body and soul is to redefine and not get stuck on what used to be.”
Sameera further wrote, “The world will still judge but you don’t need to fall prey to that. Move forward. Don’t look back.”
The actor concluding her stance on body positivity wrote, that she would want to stay positive and thank her body for supporting her so much. She added hashtags like, #selflove #healing #bodypositive #fitness #fitnessmotivation #realmotherhood #fitnessfriday #letsdothis to her post.
