On Monday, Sanjay Raut, leader of Shiv Sena raised concern over the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, where a number of civilians have been shot by terrorists in the last few days. Describing the situation as “worrisome”, Raut noted that migrants are being aimed and asked for a statement from home minister Amit Shah or defense minister Rajnath Singh.

The Shiv Sena leader remarked, “The situation in J&K is worrisome. Bihari migrants, Kashmiri Pandits and Sikhs are being targeted. When it’s about Pakistan, you talk about surgical strikes. Then, it should be done for China too. Defense Minister and Home Minister need to tell the nation what’s the situation Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.”

His statement follows a day after two more non-locals were killed by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. The incident took place in the Wanpoh area of Kulgam district on Sunday evening. During the incident, a laborer was grievously wounded and is being treated for several injuries. All three individuals belonged from outside the Union territory.

The terrorists shot fire indiscriminately on a group of people, killing two and injuring one, informed police after the attack. This was the third attack on non-locals in Kashmir within two days. Along with this, 11 people were gunned down in the month of October. Political leaders from Bihar have strongly condemned the latest civilian killings in the Kashmir valley.

A street vendor from Bihar was shot in the Eidgah area of Srinagar on Saturday evening. A carpenter from Sharanpur in Uttar Pradesh was gunned down in Pulwama district on the same day.

BJP leader Nikhil Anand said, “I believe that these ‘targeted’ civilian killings are carried out with the support of Pakistan supporters and Taliban sympathizers. I strongly condemn these incidents. I believe that the government, under PM Modi’s guidance, will take strong action against this incident.”

Janata Dal-United leader, Rajiv Ranjan voiced, “The infiltrators find it difficult to digest that the Central government is paving the way for development in the Union Territory. Following this, such a barbaric incident happens. I believe in the Central government and hope that they will take strong action on this.”

Reportedly, the security forces in the Union Territory have undertaken several counter-terrorist operations in the last few days and nearly 13 terrorists were killed in nine encounters.
