Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has shown the red flag to allow schools to be reopened in Delhi. He said that at the moment the schools will not be opened because the current situation related to Covid-19 is inclining towards a third wave of the pandemic.

The Chief Minister said that he and his government is taking preventive steps and do not want to take any risks until the vaccination process against the deadly virus gets accomplished.

“Not now. Internationally, trends show that the third wave of COVID is imminent. So we don’t want to take any risk until the vaccination process is complete,” he said.

Delhi registered 72 new coronavirus cases, on Wednesday, recording a slight fall in numbers since it last registered 77 cases. It was also reported by the Union Health Ministry that 88 people recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. After which the total number of active cases is 671 at the present moment.

The total number of recoveries has now reached 14,09,660. So far, 25,022 people have lost their lives to the virus in the national capital. Delhi has till now, inoculated 1million people till now in the age group of 18-45 years with the first dose.
