Shatrughan Sinha, an Indian actor, and politician, during a panel discussion on Thursday, said that now is the best time to be an actor, however, the previous generation was more conducive to becoming a star as they had the impact and longevity which makes the fans love them for years. He added that maybe the current generation does not have an actor who can create that impact and have that longevity.
Furthermore, Shatrughan added that today’s stars such as Sonakshi Sinha, Huma Qureshi, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor are all great artists, but it still needs to be witnessed whether they can create the same impact as Dilip Kumar, Dharmendra, Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan and added that he doesn’t want to take his own name.
Sonakshi Sinha, daughter of Shatrughan Sinha, also joined the panel discussion and called the recent growth of OTTs a blessing for actors. Sonakshi added that a lot of avenues have opened up, and there is work for everyone. She also said that in fact, there is surplus work, and that is a great thing to happen.
Sonakshi Sinha talked about her upcoming digital debut with an Amazon Prime Video series directed by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi and said that she just finished a series that is bound to be released very soon. She added that she had a great time shooting it, and it was a wonderful experience.
The actress expressed her happiness and said that she is glad the series will be available not only to people in India but to a global audience as well. Sonakshi further stated that with the boom on OTT platforms, the world has become extremely small, and they (the actors) will be able to reach out to a lot more people, so what else can be better for an actor than that?
