On Monday, Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) will organize MSP Adhikar Mahapanchayat at the eco garden of Lucknow. Rakesh Tikait, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader and SKM member has given a summon of ‘Lucknow Chalo’ on November 22 and invited farmers, laborers and youth to participate in the Mahapanchayat in a big number.
On Sunday, Tikait tweeted that the reforms in the agriculture sector that are being discussed by the government are false. He added that these reforms bring adversities for farmers. He further remarked that a guarantee to procure crops at the MSP would be the principal reform for agriculture and farmers. Farmers and movement supporters from multiple districts of western UP are likely to gather in the Mahapanchayat.
Surendra Singh, General secretary of BKU (Asli) voiced that the farmer’s confidence is running high following the repealing of three farm laws. Hence, they are likely to attend the Mahapanchayat in a huge number to show their strength.
Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Jayant Choudhary also asked farmers in his ‘Parivartan Sandesh Rally’ in Muzaffarnagar on Saturday to maintain pressure on the government and echoed that the party was always in support of the decisions taken by the farmers.
On the other hand, farmer leaders are meeting with the people in villages to ensure their good turnout in the Mahapanchayat. The leaders are holding meetings with the farms to explain and emphasize why the battle needs to be taken further for a guarantee of MSP.
