Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur’s exceptional century against West Indies in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 guided India to a massive total of 317/8. The match between India and West Indies is taking place at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

As far as the records are concerned, the score of 317 is the highest by the Women in Blue in the World Cup. Smriti, India’s opening batter scored 123 while Harmanpreet scored 109. The opponents, West Indies’, Anisa Mohammed took two wickets while Shakera Selman, Shamilia Connell, Deandra Dottin, and Aaliyah Alleyene took one apiece.

As India opted to bat first, opener Yastika Bhatia gave India a solid start as she smashed 31 off 21 deliveries. Shakera Selman provided a breakthrough to his team in the 7th over. Indian captain Mithali Raj was dismissed in the 10th over shortly after scoring only five. Successively, West Indies’ Anisa Mohammed removed Deepti Sharma in the 14th over.

In the 33rd over, the partnership reached a century of runs as they smashed the WI bowlers all across the stadium. The Indian opener, Mandhana achieved a well-deserved century, her second successive ton against West Indies in the World Cup in the 40th over. She was dismissed in the 43rd over by Shamilia Connell.

Harmanpreet scored her century in the 47th over. In the same over, wicketkeeper and batter, Richa Ghosh departed after a runout. In the last three overs, Pooja Vastrakar, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Jhulan Goswami were all dismissed by the West Indies bowlers.
