Today, the Tokyo Olympics organizers have informed that a person tested positive for COVID-19 at the Tokyo Olympics athletes’ village. The recent case has raised concern among the individuals who fear the rise in a number of COVID-19 cases due to the game.
Addressing the media, Tokyo 2020 CEO Toshiro Muto confirmed the news. Muta mentioned that a visitor from abroad who is involved in organizing the Games had tested positive. Citing privacy concerns, the officials did not disclose the person’s nationality.
The Tokyo Olympics which is scheduled to begin next week had been postponed for a year due to the global pandemic. The Olympic Matches will be conducted without spectators and under strict quarantine rules.
