Renowned Malayalam actor, Nedumudi has passed away at a private hospital in Kerala. The veteran actor was 73. He was admitted to the hospital because he was suffering from stomach-related ailments.
Reports suggest that the actor was battling stomach-related issues. He was diagnosed a few months ago and was admitted to the hospital for the same. His health deteriorated gradually and he was rushed o a private hospital in Kerala. He breathed his last on October 11 morning.
The actor is survived by his wife TR Susheela and their children Unni and Kannan. His fans have expressed grief over the loss of the actor. Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran and director Sangeeth Sivan took to Twitter to express their condolences and pay their tributes to the deceased.
Prithviraj shared a photo of the actor on social media and wrote, “Farewell Venu uncle! Your body of work and your expertise over the craft will forever be research material for generations to come! Rest in peace legend! #NedumudiVenu”
Film director Sangeeth Sivan too took to his social media and wrote, “Absolutely shattered to know that #NedumudiVenu is no more! One of our finest actors. Such a huge loss to Malayalam cinema. He leaves behind an impressive & varied filmography & will live in our hearts forever. #OmShanti “
Kesavan Venugopal was dearly known as Nedumudi Venu among his fans and admirers. He started his career as a theatre artist and then gradually shifted to films. He had acted in more than 500 films, with a career graph spanning over decades. He was also a screenplay writer and a director. In his lifetime, he won three National film awards and six Kerala State Film Awards for his acquired brilliance in the field.
Some of his most famous films are Margam, Vidaparayum Munpe, Thanmatra, Themavin Kombath, Oru Minnaminugginte Nurungubettam, among several others.
