Today Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister of India had performed “Shastra Puja” which is the customary worship of weapons. After the ceremony, he said, “India wants peace along its border with China”. The Puja was performed in Sikkim near the China border on the occasion of Dussehra.

Rajnath Singh said the brave soldiers of India have sacrificed their lives for the safety of the country and want the Indo-China tension to end. “Unpleasant incidents keep happening. However, I am confident that our soldiers will not let anyone take even an inch of our land. History will remember the courage of Indian soldiers,” said Singh. The Shastra puja was held near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) amid the border standoff in Ladakh with China.

He also inaugurated the Alternate Alignment Gangtok Nathula Road, Virtually from the Sukna based headquarters of 33 Corps that guards the de-facto border with China in the Sikkim sector. The Defence Minister was accompanied by Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane, and other officials and jawans.
